About the role:

As the Information Officer you will:    

  • Process Ministerial and Director-General documents accurately and in accordance with central office electronic records management systems.
  • Search electronic and paper records for information and documents required by clients and ensure that requests are processed accurately and promptly.

Responsibilities include;

  • Undertake a range of administrative tasks and records management, in a high-volume setting, to support the operational requirements of the unit.
  • Respond to inquiries emanating from within, and external, to the unit in a courteous manner and within appropriate timelines.
  • Liaise with officers at all levels of the department, other government agencies, educational institutions and organisations, the private sector and community representatives.
  • Produce regular reports on behalf of the unit to assist in the management of executive records.
  • Maintain internal registers and databases utilising a range of commercial software systems including Content Manager and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of procedures, systems and standards by providing formal and informal feedback on implementation issues and quality assurance processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of responses to sensitive and confidential correspondence directed to the Minister and Director-General and process correspondence providing a high level of service and a continuous flow of work in line with departmental standards.
