About the Role

Key Responsibilities of the Role

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with local employers, training organisations, and community partners to support student pathways
  • Coordinate and support work experience placements, school-based apprenticeships and traineeships (SATs), and vocational opportunities for students
  • Provide guidance and support to students regarding career pathways, workplace expectations, and employment opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with school staff to support students enrolled in Vocational Education and Training (VET) and other pathway programs
  • Assist with monitoring and supporting students undertaking workplace learning to ensure positive outcomes
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to student placements, employer engagement, and program participation
  • Support activities that strengthen the connection between school, training providers and industry

Must-Have Skills and Experience

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, particularly with young people, employers, and community partners
  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision
  • Ability to build and maintain industry partnerships and engage with local businesses
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple placements, contacts and records
  • Experience supporting young people in career development, employment pathways or vocational programs
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a school team environment
  • Sound computer skills and ability to maintain records and documentation
  • A current Working with Children Blue Card
  • Able to undergo a Criminal History Check
  • Ability to work in Australia

Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience

  • Experience working in education, youth services, employment services, or training organisations
  • Knowledge of Vocational Education and Training (VET), school-based apprenticeships and traineeships, or work experience programs
  • Understanding of senior schooling pathways and post-school transition options
  • Existing connections with local industry or community organisations
