Mt Maria College, North Brisbane’s first Catholic Co-Educational College, was established in 1978. As a member of Marist Schools Australia, our educational philosophy is based on the teachings of St Marcellin Champagnat, the founder of the Marist Order. About the role - The Indigenous Liaison Officer provides culturally appropriate and general support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, their families and their community to assist them to fully engage in the education offerings and opportunities of the College. The role holder provides individualised support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and parents/families to assist student learning and schooling through tailored learning, cultural and pastoral support. The role holder also operates to deepen a respectful understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and spiritualities to members of the College community. The role holder operates within the Catholic educational environment and culture and will be supportive of the Catholic ethos and Mission of the College.


To be eligible to be considered for this role you will:

  • hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement;
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.
