Merici College is an all-girls 7-12 Catholic College authorised to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (Years 11-12) and the Middle Years Programme (Years 7-10). About the Role 

As an Inclusive Education Teacher, you will have the opportunity to support the learning and development of all students, including those with disabilities, by adapting and differentiating instruction with accessible techniques and resources aligned with the curriculum. You’ll play a key role in collaborating with colleagues, families, and specialists to build a welcoming and equitable classroom. By providing students with regular, personalised assessments and feedback and maintaining accurate records of each student's progress to meet their unique needs. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and specialists, to create a welcoming and supportive environment that values all abilities and promotes equitable access to learning. Committed to professional standards, they engage in ongoing learning and specialised training in inclusive and disability-focused practices to enhance accessibility and inclusion in the classroom.

Qualifications  

  • Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching.
  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.
  • Teaching Quality Institute (TQI) registration.

Selection Criteria 

  1. A thorough knowledge of the Australian Curriculum with the ability to organise, select and design content for effective teaching and learning.
  2. Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage positively with colleagues, students, and parents.
  3. The capacity to be a proactive member of a professional learning community complying with the legal, administrative, and professional requirements.
  4. Classroom practices and organisational skills that create supportive and safe environments for all students, including meeting a variety of learning needs.
  5. A comprehensive understanding of assessment and reporting strategies and the need to provide effective and timely feedback to parents and students.
