We are currently working with multiple schools in the Kirklees area who are searching for an Inclusion Support Worker to start as soon as possible.

As an Inclusion Support Worker, you should show a real passion for support learners and young adults with various Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and behaviours. You will be able to demonstrate a level of resilience in work, be able to think on your feet and act/respond quickly to challenging behaviour, but most importantly be able to build meaningful and nurturing relationships with the students.

You will be able to demonstrate and implement behaviour management techniques both inside the classroom and around the educational setting, to help promote learner growth and development throughout their school day within a safe and structured learning environment.

The position requires you to be experienced in supporting pupils and young adults with challenging behaviours. Depending on the role and your experiences, you could be working across a variety of educational settings. As well as mainstream schools, you may be required to working in SEN settings, PRU's, and Alternative Learning Provisions (ALP).

As an Inclusion Support Worker, you are responsible to work alongside teachers, managers and other classroom staff to support the learners and young adults in a constructive and controlled learning environment, both inside the classroom and around the setting.

The Role:

  • Creating a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment for the learners and young adults involved.
  • Working within a supportive staff grouping where everyone follows the same standards and ethos.
  • Gaining first-hand experience within the SEN/SEMH sector.
  • Requirements:

  • A DBS on the update service (We can advise on this) (Essential)
  • Experience working with SEMH/SEN students with challenging behaviour.
  • Team Teach Certificate (Within the last 2 years) (Desirable).
  • Ideal Candidate:

  • A varied knowledge of the national curriculum and basic classroom learning strategies.
  • The ability to apply sensible and suitable behaviour management strategies when dealing with challenging/high-risk behaviour.
  • The ability to build trust-worthy relationships, both with learners/young adults and staff within a team.
