St Joseph's College Coomera is a Brisbane Catholic Education master planned co-educational College that opened in January 2019. Our first Seniors will graduate in 2024. The College is located in Coomera on the Northern Gold Coast, 40 minutes south of the Brisbane CBD.

The ICT Coordinator is a member of the College Administration Team responsible for ensuring the continued operation of IT equipment and services that are used to deliver teaching, learning and administration functions at the College.
It is essential that the role holder has the following capabilities:

The role holder ensures the stable operation of the St Joseph’s College computer network, hardware, software and services. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimising networks, hardware, software, and services. The role will also analyse and resolve hardware, software, computer, AV and end-user incidents and problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end-user training where required.
This dynamic role requires a logically minded and experienced IT professional to achieve timely, cost effective and service-orientated outcomes for the College.
Technical Skills:
-Working technical knowledge of Workspace One or a comparable Mobile Device Management system.
-Working technical knowledge of network, server, AV and PC operating systems. (St Joseph’s College is a Windows environment).
-Extensive application support experience.
-Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards.
-Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
-Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
Communication Skills
-Strong inter-personal skills with a focus on rapport building, listening, and questioning skills.
-Advanced level communication skills – written and oral.
-Very high ability to interact diplomatically with the College staff, parents, students and other community members.
-High regard for confidentiality, reliability and integrity
General Administrative Skills
-Ability to work as part of the College Admin team.
-Strong documentation skills.
-High level of ability to work autonomously, prioritising work and delivering to deadlines.
-Maintain a welcoming, positive environment for staff, parents, students and other community members.
The duties of this role encompass, but are not limited to, the following:
-Strategy and Planning
-Alert line-managers (College Business Manager/Heads of Campus) to emerging trends in incidents.
-Evaluate documented resolutions and analyse trends for ways to prevent recurring issues.
-Develop policies and procedures that outline how problems are identified, documented, assigned, and corrected.
-Collaborate with IT staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling the school’s objectives and processes.
-Work with school leadership team members, decision-makers, and stakeholders to define the requirements, goals, and annual planning and to identify and resolve systems issues.
-Analyse the performance of Service Desk activities and documented resolutions, identify problem areas, and devise and deliver solutions to enhance the quality of service and to prevent future problems.
Acquisition and Deployment:
-Deploy pre-packaged software using distribution tools and processes as requested by end-users.
-Install AV equipment.
-Deploy ICT equipment to staff and students.
-Assist in software releases and rollouts.
-Determine requirements and make recommendations on software, hardware, AV and systems products as requested by end-users.
-Design and deploy new software, hardware, AV and systems products and enhance existing applications, software, and operating systems.
-Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed software, hardware, AV and systems products to aid management in making implementation decisions.
-Conduct research on software, hardware, AV and systems products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
-Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure software, hardware, AV and system-related products and services.
Operational Managment
-Provide first contact support of incoming requests to the service desk via telephone, web portal, email, and chat to ensure courteous, timely, and effective resolution of end-user issues.
-Escalate incidents with accurate documentation when required, including insurance claims.
-Use remote tools and diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.
-Research solutions through the internal and external knowledge base as needed.
-Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organisation.
-Perform hands-on fixes when diagnostic tools are not appropriate, including hardware (computer, AV and other) repairs, delivery of peripherals, or other fixes as determined.
-Perform preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning of workstations, printers, and peripherals.
-Test fixes to ensure an incident has been adequately resolved.
-Develop help sheets and FAQ lists for end users.
-Provide suggestions for continual improvement.
-Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
-Design and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes per the BCE disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
-Operate servers and systems, including print and backup, and their associated software per BCE specifications.
-Ensure system connectivity to all servers, shared software, and other applications.
-Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
-Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
-Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
-Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports.
-Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with end-users regarding pertinent IT activities.
Tertiary qualifications at Associate Diploma/Diploma level or equivalent qualifications relevant to the position may be required by the employer or knowledge, qualifications and experience that are determined by the employer as necessary to successfully carry out the duties of the position.
