About the Role  

As a Human Resource Business Partner, you’ll play a vital role in fostering positive organisational culture and supporting key HR initiatives across a portfolio of schools and ELCs. Reporting to the Senior Officer of People and Culture, you will act as a trusted advisor, partnering with senior management in providing strategic guidance on performance, workforce planning, leadership development, talent management, change management, and business improvement. 

In this generalist role, you’ll coach and mentor school leadership teams to enhance their effectiveness, manage complex cases, lead investigations, and support a consistent approach to Health & Safety. Ideal candidates will have a relevant qualification in a related discipline (or equivalent experience), along with extensive HR generalist expertise, proven ability to manage conflict, and advanced skills in advising on enterprise agreements. Strong communication skills, particularly in managing sensitive situations and conflict resolution, are essential, as is eligibility for Working With Children’s registrations and a current driver’s license. Selection Criteria: 

  1. Demonstrated experience across a broad range of HR generalist functions, encompassing strategic and operational support within diverse organisational contexts.
  2. Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to effectively manage conflict, negotiate successfully, and achieve desired outcomes.
  3. Extensive experience in advising and supporting senior leadership on complex matters related to multiple enterprise agreements and industrial instruments.
  4. Advanced understanding and application of performance management frameworks and processes, with a focus on continuous improvement and capability building.
  5. Strong expertise in conducting workplace investigations, including effective resolution of staff grievances, complaints, and performance management issues.
