About the role -
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated teacher to join our close-knit school community. As a dynamic and innovative member of our school community, you will:
  • Create a nurturing and ordered learning environment which is learner-centred, safe, supportive, co-operative and aligned with relevant curriculum, policies and practices
  • Collaborate with your peers to develop and implement quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy
  • Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning
  • Work with the school leadership team and colleagues to contribute to the professional life of the school
  • Proactively engage with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes
  • Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.

About you -
To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience in HPE as well as:
  • Demonstrate a collaborative preference in working and planning with peers, support staff, students, parents and carers
  • Articulate and demonstrate involvement with high yield strategies that influence student achievement. eg. review & response meetings, walkthroughs, feedback, coaching, data interpretation
  • Demonstrate pedagogical practices highlighting the use of the gradual release of responsibility model, short term planning influenced by data
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Archdiocesan Religious Education Curriculum, the Australian Curriculum and in particular a willingness to participate in emphasizing the personal/social capabilities
  • Commitment to child safety
  • Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills, and proven organisational skills
  • Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.

As this position requires classroom teaching of Religious Education, applicants must be Catholic. Applicants are required to address these points in the "Letter of Application" section of the online application form.


At BCE our teachers are required to:
  • Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
  • Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
  • Have a commitment to Safeguarding

Do I have to be Catholic?
If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.
We support all teachers with Accreditation to Teach pathways after you start with us.
