About this job

Position Information

Richmond River High Campus, situated in the township of Lismore, is a medium-sized comprehensive public high school serving a diverse community. Our student population reflects a unique blend of rural and urban families, a range of socioeconomic backgrounds, varied household compositions, and diverse lifestyles and identities. First Nations cultures make up a significant portion of our students. In recent years, enrolment numbers have stabilised following demographic changes in the local area. The school and community were profoundly affected by a devastating flood, the effects of which continue to be felt. The new Campus is due for completion during 2027.

We are dedicated to ongoing improvement in quality teaching and learning, aiming to create a learning environment where every student feels valued and supported to achieve growth and success both during their schooling and in their future pathways. Enhancing staff capabilities in data literacy and application is a key focus, as this will guide our teaching programs and targeted interventions. Our school culture prioritises strong, respectful relationships between staff, students, and the community, underpinned by high expectations, which supports wellbeing and boosts student engagement.

General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy

Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise staff across a diverse range of Technology and Applied Studies (TAS) subjects, including Industrial Technology, Agriculture, Textiles, iSTEM, VET courses, Multimedia, Food Technology, Metal, and Mandatory Technology. 2. Demonstrated ability to cultivate positive relationships that build trust and respect among team members, strengthening collaboration and morale. Evidence of fostering a culture that encourages continuous improvement, innovation, and mutual support.
  3. Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic executive team, contributing to whole school initiatives and supporting the broader strategic goals of the school through effective communication and teamwork.
