Position Information
Robert Townson High School (FOEI 125) services the communities of Raby, Bow Bowing, Varroville and St Andrews. Our school celebrates diversity, including 36 students within our Hearing Support Unit as well as students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. We have approximately 760 students with 42% of the school population from English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) backgrounds and 53 Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students.
The school has strong student leadership opportunities and is developing other opportunities in sport, academic and cultural areas to strengthen our commitment to developing the whole child. The school continues to implement “Resilience in Our Teens”, an evidence-informed program across 7-10, working with students, parents and staff on adopting a ‘have a go’ attitude. This works in tandem with the re-invigoration of Positive Behaviour for Learning across the school.
This position is responsible for the leadership and management of the Technological and Applied Studies (TAS) Faculty which has a approximately 8 staff including a Kitchen Assistant. We offer several stage 6 courses including VET frameworks.

Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach within the Technological and Applied Studies Key Learning Area including at least one Stage 6 course.
- Demonstrated ability to cater for the diverse and complex range of learners at Robert Townson High School.
- Demonstrated ability to build staff capacity and foster a culture of high expectations, while being a collaborative and visible leader who works effectively with the executive to implement whole school priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teaching and learning within a diverse faculty, including staff with a range of experience and to effectively manage the extensive resources of the faculty to ensure equity of access.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
