Position Information
Greystanes High School (1100 students) is a high performing comprehensive school that includes a special education support unit (40 students). The enrolment numbers for students with a language background other than English is 62%. The school strives to support excellence in all areas of student endeavour, through a commitment to quality teaching and targeted wellbeing programs. General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Specific Selection Criteria
2. Exemplary instructional leadership skills with a proven ability to utilise data to identify, plan and lead high impact professional learning to build the confidence and capacity of executive and staff to implement explicit teaching and learning practices that enhance the learning outcomes for all students
3. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to actively engage staff, students, parents and the community in collaborative strategies to promote a culture of high expectations and improvement
4.Demonstrated ability to foster continuous improvement through collaborative professional development, mentoring staff, and leading professional learning communities, with proven skills to lead high-quality teaching and learning programs aligned with NESA and DoE requirements.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
