Position Information
Belmore Boys' High School is a family of approximately 625 students and 70 teaching and non-teaching staff, located in Southwest Sydney. Our diverse student population represents 35 languages with 98% of students from language backgrounds other than English. Our FOI is 134 and ICSEA is 949, leading our school to being identified as a socio-economically disadvantaged setting.
Our school specialises on boys' education, focusing on the academic, social and emotional growth of our students. Our boys enjoy positive relationships with their teachers and peers, which allows them to be creative and confident learners who recognise the importance of learning and well-being. Our learning environment provides students with tailored learning experiences through planned, explicit and differentiated learning activities. General Selection Criteria
Specific Selection Criteria
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Demonstrated capacity to lead faculties in the development and implementation of differentiated teaching and learning programs and assessment practices, with a focus on supporting EAL/D students to reach their full potential.
- Capacity to effectively lead and support staff through the delivery of professional learning targeting a diverse range of learners including high potential and gifted learners through the use of evidence-informed strategies.
- Proven capacity to work collaboratively with the executive team to lead data driven initiatives that support the implementation of the vision and directions of the school’s strategic plan.
- Demonstrated well developed organisational, interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to build positive relationships and lead teams to support the development of a school culture based on high expectations and shared responsibility.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
