Position Information
Strathfield South High School is a proudly inclusive comprehensive high school with a Support Unit of 8 Autism and 4 Deaf classes. The school has approximately 560 students, 80% of whom are drawn from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. We celebrate and champion diversity and work collaboratively with our community to ensure all students develop a deep understanding and empathy for their cultural backgrounds and others.

Specific Selection Criteria
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
Approval to teach Special Education (Secondary) and / or experience teaching students with diagnosed Autism and/or Deaf and/or mild intellectual disabilities.
Proven ability to lead and inspire a large and diverse faculty to develop and implement effective curriculum requirements 7 – 12 to meet the diverse learning needs of our students.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a cohesive executive team to ensure inclusive practises are embedded in whole school processes.
Outstanding organisational and interpersonal skill with the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team including post- school pathways and engage families to meet the aspirations of all students.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
