Position Information
Moorebank High School is a dynamic partially selective and comprehensive high school situated in southwest Sydney. The school has 1024 students with 1% of students from an Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander background and 78% of students from a language background other than English. In 2021 Moorebank High School established a support unit with three autism support classes. The school is committed to extending it's students through excellence in teaching and learning and collaboration with it's partner primary schools and other comprehensive and selective high schools. General Selection Criteria
Specific Selection Criteria
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Approval to teach in Special Education and/or demonstrated experience in teaching students with Autism and complex communication, behavioural and learning needs.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with proven capacity to build relationships and lead collaborative planning with all stakeholders to develop, implement and review learning and support programs and processes to meet the diverse needs of students with a disability, whilst maximising student growth and engagement.
- Demonstrated capacity to contribute to whole school initiatives and proven ability to collaborate effectively with the executive team to meet whole school priorities.
- High levels of emotional intelligence to lead and support a diverse inclusive education faculty, fostering strong communication, cohesion, compliance, and a positive working environment.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
