Position Information

Yeoval Central School is a comprehensive K-12 school with 81 enrolments, with a mix of experienced and beginning teaching and support staff. 29% of students identify as Aboriginal. We are proudly located on Wiradjuri Land. Our stated values of respect, responsibility and cooperation permeate throughout our school with all stakeholders working together to achieve and grow. Students are encouraged to be self-reliant, resilient and autonomous learners, with students in Year 11 and Year 12 benefitting from engagement in the Western Access Program. Our expectations of learning and behaviour are high, ensuring all students strive to achieve their personal learning goals. Teachers support each other in the areas of technology, literacy, numeracy, and evidence-based teaching practices. The school provides social and emotional support through our Wellbeing model, encompassing Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL). General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Specific Selection Criteria
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
1. Demonstrated capacity to lead and support secondary staff across all key learning areas, including professional learning, compliance with curriculum and program monitoring, managing, coordinating and monitoring NESA and DoE requirements for secondary students, including Stage 6
2. Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively, with a growth mindset, to build a safe and professionally sound inclusive culture across a K-12 setting, while supporting the development and implementation of the school’s future Strategic Improvement Plan
3. Proven ability to design, coordinate, and evaluate comprehensive transition programs that support students and families through pre to post school transitions K-12, including Careers Education and Vocation Education and Training
4. Demonstrated ability to initiate, implement and oversee whole school administration roles including daily organisation of staff cover, variations to routine, and the development and implementation of timetables, rosters and schedules
