Position Information

Tullamore Central School is located in the Parkes Shire, 125km south–west of Dubbo, catering for students from Kindergarten through to Year 12. Our current enrolment is 55 students with 24% identifying as Aboriginal, including 33 Primary and 22 Secondary students.

The Head Teacher Secondary Studies is a member of the Executive Team and has leadership roles within the Secondary faculty and across the school. They are responsible for the ongoing implementation, monitoring and evaluation of school priorities aligned to the school’s Strategic Improvement Plan.

The Head Teacher Secondary Studies has shared responsibility for the ongoing professional development of teaching staff within the Secondary faculty and works collaboratively with all staff K-12 across our Central School setting. 

This role entails working with parents/carers and local service providers to enhance student engagement in teaching and learning, and the development of career pathways.

General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Specific Selection Criteria

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,

Demonstrated experience and expertise in leading the development and implementation of innovative and differentiated teaching and learning programs and quality assessment.

Evidence of highly developed organisational and management skills, with a demonstrated ability to connect with all key stakeholders to effectively support students in their learning.

Outstanding communication skills with the demonstrated capacity to contribute to building and strengthening a collaborative learning culture across the school.

Demonstrated experience in leading professional learning in conjunction with the executive team and school community, in the pursuit of whole school priorities and targets.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

 

Special Notes

The successful applicant may be eligible to receive a one-off recruitment payment of $20,000. (Conditions apply).

A Relocation support payment of $5,000 up to $8,000 will be available for eligible applicants.
