About this job
Position Information
Bowraville Central School is a K-12 campus serving a diverse community within the Nambucca Valley on the Mid-North Coast of New South Wales. With a long and proud history dating from 1875, the school's first ever Year 12 candidates completed their Higher School Certificate examinations in 2008.
For several years, the school has been a recipient of additional equity funding, and these resources enable staff and community to work together to create innovative programs of support for students, regardless of their age or background, within a caring and supportive environment. With 34% of students identifying as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Bowraville Central School has an AEO and additional Aboriginal teaching and non-teaching staff who are an integral part in supporting our students.
As a K-12 comprehensive public school, we cater for all local enrolments and this is supported by the establishment of three MC classes, the learning and engagement hub and a rich array of cultural programs. In Secondary, we have moved to a staged learning and these classes are taught by two teachers in a co-teaching model. All classes K-10 have a School Learning and Support Officer full time to further support learning.
The school has a support unit of 3 classes catering for students with a variety of diagnoses, including IM, IO, ED, MC and AU.
The school offers extension and enrichment, transition and literacy support classes to promote the academic advancement of students, while strong wellbeing, sports, arts and student representative programs contribute to the holistic educational experiences of students at Bowraville Central School.
