Position Information
Cumberland High School is a comprehensive high school, with a population of approximately 1200 students, located in Carlingford. The school has a diverse cultural population including 73.9% non-English speaking background and 57 different languages. Our school is driven by the core values of Respect, Responsibility and Excellence. Cumberland High School is a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) high school that provides strong whole-school wellbeing initiatives for all students including students from a non-English speaking background, high potential learners, students with additional learning needs and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
General Selection Criteria
Specific Selection Criteria
1. Proven ability to work collaboratively with staff to lead the development and implementation of engaging and differentiated learning experiences through innovative pedagogy to maximise student growth and attainment.
2. Demonstrated ability to work dynamically as a productive and proactive member of the executive team to analyse data, lead and evaluate priorities and initiatives in the School Excellence Plan.
3. Proven capacity to lead improvement in Science 7-12 through strategic curriculum and assessment design that embeds explicit instruction, differentiation, task adjustment, and high potential and gifted education to drive equity and excellence in all courses.
4. Highly developed instructional leadership to identify and present targeted professional leaning to meet staff needs in driving sustainable improvement and positioning Science as a flagship faculty within the school.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
