Cessnock High School is a dynamic learning community in the picturesque Hunter Valley, seamlessly blending its rich heritage with modern upgrades, including enhanced learning spaces and improved campus facilities. With an enrolment of approximately 650 students, including ten dedicated classes for students with disability, our diverse student body reflects the broader community, with 27% identifying as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. Specific Selection Criteria
1. Demonstrated capacity to lead a faculty in delivering high-quality curriculum, evidence-informed teaching and assessment, ensuring effective differentiation that supports diverse learners, including HPGE.
2. Demonstrated capacity to work dynamically as a productive and collaborative member of the executive team to analyse data, lead and evaluate priorities and initiatives in the school excellence plan.
3. Highly developed instructional leadership skills to identify the needs of teachers, students and community to support and drive continuous improvements in teaching and learning.
4. Demonstrated ability to lead high expectations, explicit teaching and consistent behaviour management and wellbeing through evidence- informed practices aligned to whole-school priorities.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
