Position Information
Muirfield High School (915 students, including 24% from non-English speaking background) is a comprehensive, coeducational school with highly supportive student welfare structures and student leadership programs. The school has a support unit with three emotional disturbance classes. Students in the support unit are integrated into mainstream classes and programs, as appropriate to meet individual needs.
An informed and highly involved community has high expectations for student achievement and engagement. Developing and maintaining academic growth is a focal point of school planning. At the heart of our school is a collaborative PDHPE Faculty with a mix of beginning and experienced teachers who are committed to the school, students and community. The faculty achieves strong HSC results in PDHPE, building on solid foundations in Stages 4 and 5 through mandatory PDHPE and multiple classes of PASS. Sport is an important part of the school culture with the Head Teacher PDHPE coordinating the sport program. The PDHPE staff nurture athletic talent with students representing the school at Zone, Regional and State levels and with many knock-out competitions.

Specific Selection Criteria
- Proven expertise and enthusiasm in teaching PDHPE 7-12, with approval to teach or willingness to undertake training to teach VET Sports Coaching.
- Demonstrated ability to support staff in developing inclusive programs and implementing explicit teaching techniques that improve student wellbeing and academic outcomes.

Outstanding organisational skills and proven ability to lead the effective organisation of the school sports program.

Capacity to work collaboratively and successfully with school executive to lead, manage and implement systems, processes and initiatives.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
