Position Information
Castle Hill High School is a large, comprehensive secondary school. The school has 138 teaching staff and 1825 students, 62% of whom are from a non-English speaking background. General Selection Criteria
Specific Selection Criteria
- Proven ability to use data and assessment to identify priorities and lead improvement in teaching practice and student performance.
- Demonstrated expertise in 7-12 Mathematics curriculum and assessment, with the ability to guide the successful implementation of the syllabus through effective planning, programming, and evaluative practices and an ability to mentor staff in senior courses, particularly Extension Mathematics.
- Demonstrated ability to lead staff in the development, implementation and evaluation of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment practices, with a specific focus on Explicit Instruction to support effective implementation of the new syllabus, while aligning faculty practice with Department of Education priorities, including High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE).
- Highly developed interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate staff, support professional learning and work effectively with students, parents and the school

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
