Position Information
Bankstown Girls High School is a comprehensive secondary school established in 1960, located in Sydney’s Southwest. Our student population of 570 girls reflects a diverse range of cultural, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds. Notably, 98% of our students come from non-English speaking backgrounds, and 30% require varying levels of support in English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D).

General Selection Criteria
Specific Selection Criteria
· Demonstrated capacity to deliver high quality, innovative mathematics instruction across Stages 4 to 6, utilising evidence-based teaching strategies that engage all students and lead the implementation of the new syllabus.
· Ability to work collaboratively with the executive team to lead, manage and implement whole school initiatives that address school priorities specifically literacy and numeracy.
· Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum and assessment, with the ability to analyse student performance data to refine teaching strategies and improve outcomes, including the implementation of effective EAL/D strategies to support the diverse language needs of students and the integration of application-based mathematics to enhance real-world problem-solving skills.
· Highly organised with proven capacity to balance teaching responsibilities with broader administrative tasks including the ability to support and lead the mathematics faculty.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
