Position Information
Gloucester High School is a comprehensive, co–educational school that services the educational needs of the communities of the Bucketts Way and is located in a picturesque setting overlooking the Gloucester River valley. Gloucester High School has a steady enrolment profile of around 315 students, a support unit of 2 classes and around 13% of students identify as Aboriginal. The students come from both rural farming backgrounds and from the local town and surrounding villages. Gloucester High School's central purpose is to develop a supportive learning environment that engages all students, teachers and community in the pursuit of learning excellence. The school supports student engagement through innovative teaching and learning programs and a network of welfare staff. The Positive Behaviour for Learning program teaches five core expectations: care, achievement, respect, effort and responsibility to all students. Gloucester High School enjoys a strong reputation in academic, sporting, performing and creative arts achievements. School-based traineeships and vocational education and training courses are incorporated into our Stage 5 and Stage 6 programs, preparing our students for the workplace or further training. Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Mathematics 7-12 and capacity and willingness to teach Mathematics Extension 1 and 2.
- Proven ability to build a culture of high expectations, support new teachers, lead future-focused thinking, and guide curriculum development to inspire and strengthen Mathematics and PDHPE teachers in improving outcomes for all learners.
- Demonstrated capacity as a highly visible and effective leader who works collaboratively as a member of the school executive to strengthen a positive, high-expectations school culture and lead strategic initiatives that deliver measurable, whole-school improvement in student learning, wellbeing and engagement.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
A Relocation Support Payment of $5,000 up to $8,000 will be available for eligible applicants.
Successful applicants may be entitled to a Recruitment Bonus of $20,000 (Conditions Apply). The Recruitment Bonus will be paid on a pro rata basis for permanent part-time teachers and executive staff. The maximum recruitment bonus available for a position is $20,000, including any job share arrangements.
