Position Information
Port Hacking High School has a diverse student population with strong connections to its local community. The school provides a balanced education for all students, with a focus on academic achievement along with extra-curricular opportunities in sport and the creative and performing arts. The school enrolment consists of 950 students, 25 Aboriginal and 30 % from a non-English speaking background. The school produces well-rounded and respectful young men and women who have the knowledge, skills and values needed to shape their lives and contribute productively to 21st-century Australian society. 
Port Hacking High School provides enrichment classes for high potential and gifted students, specialist support for literacy and numeracy, expert tuition in the performing arts, an outstanding student leadership program and high quality wellbeing programs based around key values that support a range of student needs. The school's strategic directions focus on student growth and attainment, collaborative teaching and learning practices, and a positive culture of learning and wellbeing.
General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Specific Selection Criteria
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria, 
Proven integrity and credibility in leading, supporting, and mentoring a diverse English faculty, fostering a cohesive and high-performing team environment.
Demonstrated educational leadership skills to guide staff to create quality teaching, learning and assessment practices focused on continual improvement in engagement and achievement for all students.
Expertise and commitment to leading High Potential and Gifted Education through differentiated teaching, enrichment opportunities and inclusive practices that maximise student achievement and growth.
Established ability to cultivate positive relationships and active engagement within the school community, contributing as a committed and visible member of the executive team to promote and sustain a positive school culture.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
