Position Information
Gymea Technology High School is a comprehensive coeducational secondary school located in the Sutherland Shire in the southern suburbs of Sydney. The school has an enrolment of 550 students, including 22 Aboriginal students. General Selection Criteria
Specific Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated expertise in teaching and leading Year 7 to 12 English, including Extension courses, with the capacity to drive high-quality curriculum implementation, model exemplary practice, and build staff capability to improve student outcomes.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse English faculty, implementing syllabuses with a focus on high-quality explicit teaching, effective assessment practices, and differentiated instruction to engage and extend high-potential learners.
- Demonstrated capacity as a Head Teacher to foster high expectations by engaging students, promoting positive behaviour, and modelling inclusive practices that support wellbeing and achievement.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills to work strategically and collaboratively across the school to implement innovative initiatives that enhance student outcomes.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
