Position Information

Chifley College Senior Campus is situated on the lands of the Darug people of the Gomerigal clan. We are a comprehensive, co-educational senior secondary school with 570 students including 7 Inclusive Education classes. The school caters for Stage 6 students with an extensive curriculum across the academic, creative, vocational, and sporting domains. The school is one of five campuses that make up Chifley College within the St Marys-Mount Druitt area. Our school community is culturally and linguistically diverse, 24% of students identify as having an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background and 31% identify as having a Pasifika background.  

Chifley College Senior Campus hosts a National Aboriginal Sporting Chance Academy (NASCA) for Aboriginal girls and a Clontarf Academy for Aboriginal boys. We have strong partnerships with Sydney University, Western Sydney University and Macquarie University, TAFE, cultural institutions, businesses, and local community groups. Our students represent the school across the state in music and dance ensembles, youth leadership forums and a range of sporting activities.

General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Specific Selection Criteria
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria:
  1. Demonstrated understanding and capacity to lead evidence informed, differentiated and inclusive teaching practices that respond to the learning needs and strengths of a diverse range of students with a culture of high expectations. 
  2. Demonstrated capacity to embed student voice, agency and feedback within teaching and faculty practice to strengthen engagement, belonging and wellbeing and ensure learning experiences are responsive to students' individual learning needs and aspirations.
  3. Demonstrated capacity to build authentic partnerships with parents and carers and broader community as partners in learning, using proactive and effective communication to support student progress and successful Stage 6 outcomes.
  4. Highly developed interpersonal skills with the capacity to work collegially and strategically as a member of the school executive team to identify, develop, lead and evaluate whole-school initiatives aligned with the school's strategic directions, contributing positively to a culture of continuous improvement and collective efficacy.
