Position Information
Richmond Agricultural Centre is a unique institution in the NSW educational landscape. The Centre delivers AgSTEM programs to students K-12, with a combination of shared enrolments from schools across Western Sydney in Stages 2-6, immersion programs in schools K-12 and a secondary provision for AgSTEM selective and AgSTEM specialty students who attend the Centre 3 days a week in Years 7-10 and full time in Years 11 and 12. The Centre has an enrolment of 240 AgSTEM students in Years 7-10 and up to 120 Year 11/12 AgSTEM students. We also educate students across NSW with over 5000 students connected to our programs in 2025. Our enrolment within our AgSTEM programs includes approximately 5% Aboriginal students, with larger numbers of Aboriginal students in our Years 7-12 outreach shared enrolment courses and K-12 state programs.
The Centre currently operates from TAFE/WSU facilities on the Hawkesbury campus and in 2027 will move into our purpose built facility on the campus. The Centre delivers high quality, transdisciplinary AgSTEM programs utilising design thinking and partnered learning experiences, with a focus on HPGE and neurodiverse education. The Centre also provides the delivery of teacher professional learning across NSW. The programs developed by the Centre are focused on the pillars of Agriculture, STEM, Sustainability, Aboriginal Knowledges and transition pathways.

Specific Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated ability in implementing evidence-based practices that focus on continuous improvement, high expectations and working towards excellence in student learning.
- Demonstrated capacity to lead whole school administrative systems and processes that support teaching, learning, reporting and credentialling in secondary school programs.
- Demonstrated capacity to foster and build positive and authentic partnerships with all stakeholders to effectively address the specific needs of HPGE and neurodiverse students from a diverse range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to enhance staff capacity at the Centre and across NSW schools in using innovative, transdisciplinary, HPGE and Neurodiverse pedagogies, partnered with industry, academia and community, to provide authentic learning experience that promote student growth as a holistic learner.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
