Position Information
Newtown High School of the Performing Arts is a partially selective (in Dance, Music and Drama), co-educational, comprehensive school located on Gadigal Land approximately 5 kms southwest of Sydney CBD. The student population is approximately 1164. The school has an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander enrolment of 26 students. The school is strongly supported by an active and engaged Parents and Citizens Association as well as the broader community. All members of the school community have high aspirations for success. Specific Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, implement and oversee whole school administration roles including timetabling, daily organisation, employment of casuals, the development and implementation of rosters and schedules, and variations to routine utilising Edval, SAP, SCOUT, and Sentral systems.
- Ability to drive improvements, lead initiatives and foster a positive school culture through innovative solutions that support teaching and learning.
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully and productively with the school executive team to lead, implement and support whole school priorities and initiatives in the school’s Strategic Excellence Plan.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with all members of staff and the broader school community.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
