Position Information

Cabramatta High School is a comprehensive, coeducational high school located in South West Sydney. The school has a total student population of over 1500 students, and includes an Intensive English Centre and Support Unit. 96% of students are from a language background other than English, with fifty-five cultural groups represented in the school. The school has a strong focus on academic excellence, collaborative practice, holistic education, wellbeing programs, innovative professional learning and community partnerships. The school has a collaborative staff culture, and the executive team collectively leads whole school projects. The school and its community have a strong culture of high expectations in all learning areas. There are two Head Teacher Administation roles in the school, a Head Teacher Adminstration (Staff) and a Head Teacher Administration (Students). The advertised position is for the role of Head Teacher Administration (Students).

General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Specific Selection Criteria
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
Ability to enhance a high expectations culture to improve student attendance through the collaborative design and development of strategic whole school initiatives.
Demonstrated capacity to enhance, implement and oversee whole school administration roles including organising examination timetables and supervision rosters, managing data systems, tracking attendance data, managing student attendance and organising presentation day.
High-level leadership skills to be an effective member of the school leadership team to collaboratively develop and implement innovative strategic initiatives in a diverse, dynamic and high performing school.
Demonstrated ability to build positive, collaborative and constructive relationships with staff, students, parents and other stakeholders with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
