Why Eimeo Road State School?
ERSS is entering an exciting phase of school improvement through the expansion of our Personalised Learning Centre (PLC) model. Building on successful outcomes in Prep, the PLC is being extended across the school to provide targeted support for students requiring intensive adjustments while strengthening inclusive practices in every classroom.
This role provides the opportunity to:
- Lead the implementation and ongoing refinement of a contemporary, school-wide inclusion model.
- Influence systems and practices that improve outcomes for students with diverse learning needs.
- Build teacher capability through coaching, mentoring and professional learning.
- Lead a dedicated inclusion team committed to achieving positive outcomes for students.
- Strengthen partnerships with families, external providers and support agencies.
- Contribute strategically to whole-school improvement as a member of the leadership team.
- Ensure specialist expertise is leveraged to maximise inclusion and student success across the school.
About the Role:
Aligned with the Queensland Department of Education's role description, the Head of Special Education Services provides strategic leadership and expert advice to support students with disability and diverse learning needs.
The HOSES leads the planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based inclusive practices, targeted interventions and reasonable adjustments that enable students to access the Australian Curriculum and achieve success. The role collaborates closely with teachers, leaders, families and external agencies to strengthen inclusive practices, coordinate support services and ensure resources are aligned to student needs.
At ERSS, this role extends beyond compliance and case management. We are seeking a leader who can influence practice, build collective capability and drive sustainable improvement in inclusive education across the school.
