As part of the leadership team, the Head of Inclusion will work in close partnership with the Principal and middle leaders, playing a key role in shaping strategic direction and driving inclusive practices that support the diverse needs of all learners. Through collaborative leadership, the role ensures the effective implementation of inclusive education frameworks, strengthening staff capability and fostering a culture of equity, access and high expectations across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

The Head of Inclusion will:

  • Lead the implementation of inclusive education practices aligned to departmental policies and school priorities
  • Contribute to the school's improvement agenda as an active member of the Leadership Team
  • Build staff capability in differentiated teaching and inclusive pedagogies
  • Oversee the development, implementation and monitoring of individualised student supports and plans
  • Lead planning and case management for students with complex learning needs
  • Lead and manage the Support team to deliver high-quality, targeted support
  • Establish and maintain productive partnerships with parents, external agencies and community stakeholders
  • Effectively manage human, financial and physical resources to achieve strategic outcomes

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT)
  • Experience supporting students with disability and diverse learning needs
  • Strong knowledge of inclusive education and reasonable adjustments
  • Proven ability to lead, collaborate, and communicate effectively

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a HOSES or similar leadership role
  • Qualifications or training in special education or inclusive practice
