About Mareeba State School
Mareeba State School maintains a clear focus on the Literacy and Numeracy capabilities of students through a commitment to explicit teaching and rigorous monitoring of student achievement. Our school offers well developed systems to support and extend student achievement both in and outside of the classroom.
Whilst students are taught to respect diversity through the school-wide positive behaviour system, they are also challenged to think critically and creatively. The school offers an extensive list of lunchtime activities including Art and chess Clubs, Opti-Minds and organised sport. In addition, students have access to significant after-school sporting opportunities and before-school homework and reading Learning Cafes. A music program and an excellent Instrumental Music Program also provide opportunities for students to showcase their talents.
About the Role
- The role will be responsible for leading capability development of all staff in school-wide inclusive practices.
- A strong curriculum knowledge to support staff understanding, developing and implementing approved adjustments to cater for individual needs
- Deep understanding of innovative and inclusive classroom practices to support a co-teaching model of delivery
- Understanding and effective use of Inclusive Practices policies and requirements to meet departmental standards of practice
