About North Lakes State College
North Lakes State College opened its doors in 2002 and enables students to commence in Prep and continue through to Year 12 across our two campuses.
As a unique educational College, we offer many different areas of expertise including an industry standard commercial kitchen for hospitality studies, state of the art VI experience, as well as sharing our exceptional sporting facilities with the public.
The College has established a well-planned and sequenced curriculum program that is supported by a large selection of extra-curricular activities which assist students to explore their talents, interests and abilities.

About the Role
The HOSES BVI, will be expected to:
- Provide strategic and practical support to the school leadership teams in relation to the education, outcomes and wellbeing of students and young children BVI.
- Provide leadership and guidance for the implementation of innovative measures aimed at improving students BVI learning outcomes and attendance at school.
- Provide management and engagement strategies including induction activities of new arrivals, and advise on specific academic, social and emotional needs of new arrivals.
- Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching, as required for students BVI, including those who require supplementary adjustments, including braille, assistive technology and the expanded core curriculum.
- Monitor students' individual performance and behaviour and develop and implement intervention strategies where necessary.
- Communicate and work with parents, staff, higher education institutes and State Schools Division to develop strategies to improve learning outcomes, student achievements and attendance.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life through leadership in relation to students' BVI attendance and improved academic outcomes.
- Where requested, prepare all data returns for the Principal related to students BVI.
- Form and maintain partnerships with Specialist Disability Support in Schools BVI organisations
- A recognised formal qualification and expertise in the field of blindness and vision impairment and expertise is desirable and may be an advantage.
