Mount Samson State School is seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Head of Special Education to lead our inclusion team and support the delivery of high-quality inclusive education across the school.

Step into Your Next Chapter:

In this role, you will lead case management processes, coordinate responsive adjustments, and work closely with class teachers, teacher aides, families and the leadership team to ensure students with diverse learning needs are supported to access and succeed in their education. You will also play an important role in building staff capability and embedding inclusive practices across the school.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support provided by the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program.
  • Lead and manage the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with disability as needed.
  • Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
  • Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention.

The Perfect Fit:

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of inclusive education practices, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and experience supporting students with diverse needs. Leadership experience or experience coordinating inclusion programs will be highly regarded.
