Longreach State School caters for children from Prep to Year Six.
In addition to core Literacy and Numeracy, all students explore subjects such as Science, History, Studies of Society and Environment, Visual Arts, Music and Health and Physical Education. Our school also boasts facilities such as electronic whiteboards, iPads, a computer lab in each block, as well as specialised music rooms, a state of the art eLearning centre, a school hall, kitchens for cooking, a design workshop, and extensive teacher resources. Outside we have well-kept sporting grounds and multiple undercover play areas that support our sun safe policies.
About the Role
This position supports students across Longreach State School and Longreach School of Distance Education. There is a focus on working with students and developing capability of staff in Inclusion.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support provided by the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program.
- Lead and manage the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with disability as needed.
- Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
- Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention.
