About the Role

As Head of Special Education Services, your responsibilities include:

  • Lead and coordinate the Special Education Program across the school.
  • Provide expert advice and coaching to teachers to support inclusive practice and adjustments.
  • Lead planning and case management for students with complex learning needs.
  • Support and build the capability of SEP staff, including teachers and teacher aides.
  • Collaborate with the Student Services team to enhance whole-school inclusive practices.
  • Build strong partnerships with families and external agencies.
  • Use student data and evidence to monitor and improve support strategies.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
  • Experience supporting students with disability and diverse learning needs.
  • Strong knowledge of inclusive education and reasonable adjustments.
  • Proven ability to lead, collaborate, and communicate effectively.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a HOSES or similar leadership role.
  • Qualifications or training in special education or inclusive practice.
