About the Role
The primary role of the Head of Digital Learning is to work alongside teachers, leading and embedding knowledge, skills and confidence within the Primary School setting; focusing on the provision of a positive learning environment. The Head of Digital Learning is a person who can communicate a clear vision of technology as a learning tool and who will drive forward innovative and active approaches across the Primary School, Pre-School to Year 6.
The Head of Digital Learning works with departments and cohort teams to devise curriculum, promote effective teaching practices, and facilitate conversations focused on evidence of student learning which enables continual enhancement of professional practice. The Head of Digital Learning acts as a coach for other educators; providing feedback, supporting to refine practices and critical reflection to inform forward planning and teaching. They will have strong understanding of the Australian Curriculum and the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme.
The Head of Digital Learning is part of the Primary School Education Technology Team and as such, the teaching load is 0.9, with a nominal leadership load of 0.1 per cycle.
About You
You are dedicated, passionate and possess the following:
- Proven experience in developing innovative academic pathways to achieve outstanding academic results for all students
- Curriculum knowledge and teaching and learning strategies from Pre-school to Year 6, explicitly with a focus on digital learning
- Proven experience in the provision of pastoral care to effectively meet the personal, social, and academic needs of students
- The ability to work collaboratively with other members of staff and coach others
- PYP experience or an understanding of inquiry pedagogy
- The ability to implement initiatives, project delivery and change management with the support of the PSELT
- Well-developed administrative and organisational skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to the full life of an independent school and a willingness to engage in School activities out of regular hours

- A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
- A current National Police Check
- A relevant tertiary degree and teaching qualification
- Full working rights within Australia
- Excellent written English and effective interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent understanding of all elements of learning and teaching
