About Deception Bay SHS:

Deception Bay State High School, established in 1992, is a co-educational state school situated just north of Brisbane in the beautiful Moreton Bay Region. With approximately 1060 students, the school provides a rigorous and comprehensive education that is relevant and future-focussed for our diverse student population.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Lead curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiatives.
  • Participate in delivering the vision of State Schools Division.
  • Develop the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.
  • Curriculum leadership of Junior Secondary Art, Music, Drama, Dance, Film and Media
  • Curriculum leadership of Senior subjects- Music, Drama, Visual Arts, Vocational Education- Certificate III Dance, Certificate II Creative industries
  • Co-ordinate extra curricular staff, ensembles, troupes and events.
  • Build positive relationships with faculty staff to promote the school culture and value add to this innovative school.

The Head of Department is accountable to and under the direction of the Principal or delegate.
