About Coolum State High School

Coolum High's dynamic growth is making it the school of choice in the Coolum-Peregian area. Coolum High has established high academic outcomes, strong cultural programs including the celebrated Wind Symphony. Coolum High currently has 6 academy programs and 2 development programs which inspire students to excellence.

Each of these programs has experienced outstanding success, leading students to regional, state and national honours:

Academies: Basketball, Cheerleading, Instrumental Music, Surfing, Touch Football and Young Entrepreneurs.

Development Academies: Chess and Netball.

About the Role

As the Head of Department, you will:

  • lead curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiatives
  • participate in delivering the vision of State Schools Division
  • develop the quality of teaching and learning
  • nurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.
  • The Head of Department is accountable to and under the direction of the Principal or delegate.
