About the Role
The Technology Head of Department is responsible for the quality of curriculum, teaching, learning and student outcomes in the Technology faculty. The HOD leads the development of positive relationships within the faculty, oversees student behaviour and develops staff capability. Through the productive management of resources, he/she contributes to effective school operations to ensure high performance and is a leader in maintaining and developing a positive school culture and nurturing wellbeing. The HOD is also responsible for supporting teacher development observation and feedback processes and programs across the school.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the capacity to build positive team culture through relational and strategic leadership. At Maroochydore SHS the Technology Faculty HOD is required to support the development of staff by leading teams through collaboration processes, resulting in innovative and engaging learning experiences for students.
At Maroochydore SHS the Technology HOD is responsible for overseeing the co ordination and management of IT across the campus, which includes the supervision of Information Technology and Resource centre staff.
As the Head of Department, you will:
- Lead curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiatives
- Participate in delivering the vision of State Schools Division
- Develop the quality of teaching and learning
- Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.
The Head of Department is accountable to and under the direction of the Principal or delegate.
