About Yeronga State High School
Established in 1960, Yeronga SHS is a strongly connected, environmentally conscious school community that has the well-being of the child central to all learning experiences. Yeronga State High School is located in Brisbane's inner south side. We are a medium-sized school with approximately 955 students. Staff, students and parents take a great deal of pride in our school community and we consistently achieve outstanding results in academic, sporting and cultural pursuits.
About the Role
Lead the Teaching and Learning to develop, articulate, and commit to a shared educational vision focused on ensuring consistent practices across the school, particularly in moderation, implementation of Version 9 of The Australian Curriculum, and establishing a whole-school approach to pedagogy. A key focus will also be identifying and supporting gifted and talented students who require extension. A strong understanding of curriculum development and commitment to fostering student growth is essential for this role.
As the Head of Department, you will:

- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
A mandatory requirement of this role is:
