As the Head of Department (Secondary) with a focus on Teaching and Learning you will:
- Be innovative and creative in thought and remain abreast of current educational and leadership research, leading action-based research in the area of pedagogy
- Contribute to the design and development of our school's new Pedagogical Framework
- Develop a culture of improvement in teaching and learning by placing learning at the centre of strategic and operational planning.
- Promote a strong collegial culture of mutual trust and high expectations whereby staff feel supported to share effective teaching and learning practices.
- Foster a culture of creativity and critical reflection with open and dynamic conversations occurring within and across the school's leadership team and within faculties.
The Head of Department (Secondary) with a focus on Teaching and Learning will also be responsible to:
- Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
