About the School

Ripley Valley State Secondary College opened in 2020 and caters for approximately 1050 students in Years 7 to 12 in 2024. Located in a rapid growth area and will accommodate over 2000 students when at full capacity.

About the Role

 As the Head of Department -Teaching & Learning, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
  • Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
  • Be futures oriented and strategic.

The ideal applicant will: 

  • have a strong working knowledge of the Australian Curriculum, QCE, assessment, moderation and evidence-based pedagogical practices.
  • provide leadership and coaching for staff as it relates to curriculum, moderation and pedagogy.
  • be required to implement coaching programs to support staff at all levels and build whole staff capacity to implement effective pedagogical practices. The applicant should have experience in leading whole school pedagogy and curriculum.
