About the Role

As Head of Department, Student Engagement, you will join a team of experienced educators to work closely with students to support their successful engagement with school and its academic and enrichment program. The successful applicant will demonstrate initiative and play a leading role in supporting students' engagement with school so that every young person has the opportunity to achieve their personal best.

As Head of Department, Student Engagement, you will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:

  • Facilitate respectful, responsible and resilient behaviour with focus on student engagement and wellbeing.
  • Build the capability of all staff to make connections between curriculum intent and pedagogical practices to effectively engage all learners.
  • Analyse student data to lead innovative targeted support of students to improve behaviour, attendance and academic engagement
  • Engage in the school's collegial engagement framework
  • Nurture positive relationships between students, staff and stakeholders
  • Maintain high expectations and implementing behaviour management in line with school and departmental guidelines
