Laidley State High School is a mid-sized rural high school located in the growing Lockyer Valley. About the Role:
The Head of Year will work as a key member of our School Leadership Team to create a positive Senior cohort culture, set clear standards and expectations and enact proactive and responsive programs and support strategies for students. This will be achieved by creating strong partnerships with teachers, support staff, parents and external organisations and having a sharp focus on the attainment of appropriate exit outcomes and post school pathways for each individual senior student.
The Head of Year is also appointed as the school's RTO Manager, ensuring compliance with ATQF policies and procedures and supporting staff with the implementation of VET programs.
The Head of Year leads a team of staff who:
- Manage the compilation of the schools' senior student performance data.
- Supports students to engage in traineeships, apprenticeships, work experience and post school pathways.
- Assist students to develop strategies to address personal, social, emotional and wellbeing issues.
The successful candidate will be a strong strategic thinker and problem solver, an effective communicator, possess strong emotional intelligence and have a good understanding of learning pathways and student outcomes in the senior schooling and post senior schooling spaces.
