About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a dedicated and dynamic individual to join the leadership team at Runcorn State High School in the role of Acting Head of Department Science. In this role you will lead the curriculum area of Science in line with departmental initiatives. You will also be responsible for the leadership of STEM initiatives, including our primary STEM program. Teaching areas of Chemistry and Physics are desired but not essential.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the relevant curriculum area/whole school program to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
  • Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the curriculum areas or whole school program to achieve goals.
