About the School

Ripley Valley State Secondary College opened in 2020 and caters for approximately 1050 students in Years 7 to 12 in 2024. Located in a rapid growth area and will accommodate over 2000 students when at full capacity.

About the Role

 As the Head of Department - Science, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Lead curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiatives
  • Participate in delivering the vision of Early Childhood and State Schools Division
  • Develop the quality of teaching and learning
  • Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.

The ideal applicant will:

  • will have strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum in the Sciences and Senior Schooling pathways (QCAA), with experience in moderation, assessment, and reporting, particularly for Years 7-12.
  • will manage student behaviour and learning as part of the College's Multi-Tiered System of Support, focusing on improving student outcomes.
  • will be an agile leader with a proven track record of delivering quality learning outcomes and driving school improvement.
  • (as an instructional leader) will focus on developing students into confident, resilient problem-solvers with decision-making agility.
