About the Role

The Head of Science Faculty will drive high-quality teaching, effective resource use, and excellence in student learning. You will provide curriculum leadership in the Australian Curriculum: Science (7-9), and QCAA subjects, including Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering and Science in Practice. Central to this role is the responsibility to implement the school vision and explicit improvement agenda, with a strong focus on building pedagogical capacity. Your leadership will ensure innovative, engaging Science instruction that inspires curiosity, fosters critical thinking, and empowers all students to achieve success.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the implementation of the Science Curriculum (7-12) with a deep understanding of the Australian Curriculum v9 and the QCAA senior syllabus
  • Develop reliable assessment, adhering to the recommendations of the QCAA
  • Manage and support Science teaching staff
  • Manage Laboratory Technicians
  • Strategically resource the Science faculty
  • Drive school and system improvement priorities through the Science faculty
