About the Role:

An exciting opportunity exists for a dedicated and dynamic individual to join the leadership team at Runcorn State High School in the role of Head of Department Health and Physical Education. In this role you will lead the curriculum area of Health and Physical Education in line with departmental initiatives. You will also be responsible for the leadership of sport, including the management of the school's sports excellence academies in Basketball, Touch Football and Baseball.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the relevant curriculum area/whole school program to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
  • Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the curriculum areas or whole school program to achieve goals.
