Your Opportunity

Working with a large team of staff, the successful applicant will have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to build effective working relationships with staff, students, parents and industry.

As the Head of Department (Secondary) - Maths you will:

  • Lead curriculum, pedagogy, assessment and moderation practices across the faculty
  • Collect, analyse and interpret data to improve student achievement and engagement;
  • Support teachers to achieve high standards and to develop their capacity through professional learning, coaching and feedback;
  • Form collaborative partnerships with relevant industry and external organisations to drive innovative STEM agendas within our school.
  • Support, model and coach teachers in classroom management techniques to enhance student engagement.

Your Role

  • Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
  • Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
